Attire

To help you look your very best in front of our cameras, and ensure you love your portraits, here are a few suggestions:

 

Gentlemen

  • Dark suit jacket, blazer, or tuxedo with complimentary color dress shirt, vest or tie and pants

  • Clothing and props that highlight your profession are encouraged (Ex. dancer, musician with instrument, florist with flowers, equestrian, etc…)

  • Sensible clothing patterns and details

  • No neon colors

  • Keep jewelry and accessories to a minimum. Watches, cuff links, tie bars, signature rings and stud sets are suitable

 

Ladies

  • Dark or jewel toned dresses or formal gowns, and pant suits

  • Clothing and props that highlight your profession are encouraged (Ex. dancer, musician with instrument, florist with flowers, equestrian, etc…)

  • Sensible clothing patterns and details

  • No neon colors

  • Please avoid solid white attire. Bridal gowns are the exception

  • Keep jewelry sensible

  • Fashion hair ornaments such a fascinators, hairpins, clips, combs, and flowers are welcome

 

Young Ladies

  • Dark or jewel toned dresses or formal gowns

  • Clothing and props that highlight  extra-curricular activities and interests are encouraged (Ex. dancer, musician with instrument, florist with flowers, athlete, equestrian, etc…)

  • Sensible clothing patterns and details

  • Please avoid solid white attire. Gowns for debutants and quinceañeras are the exception

  • Jewelry should be kept simplistic

  • Fashion hair ornaments such as headbands, bows, hairpins, combs, and floral crowns are acceptable

 

Young Gentlemen

  • Same as men

  • Clothing and props that highlight  extra-curricular activities and interests are encouraged (Ex. dancer, musician with instrument, florist with flowers, athlete, equestrian, etc…)

  • If under 5 yrs, a dress shirt with bow tie, tie or vest is suitable

 

Groups

  • Groups should wear similar colors. It gives the feeling of camaraderie rather than separation

 

Note:

Please take into consideration that fashions are ever evolving. Select a style that will look acceptable for many years.

Many people make the mistake of wearing trendy apparel then regret their decision later when fashions change. Keep in mind, it’s your face and eyes that should draw the attention in the portrait, not your clothing.
